HURLEY
VILLAGE
900 years of history and charm combined
with 21st century luxuries. A perfect place to stay. Hurley Bed and Breakfast is in a rural village located on the edge of the River Thames between Henley on Thames and Windsor, easily assessable from the M4 and M40. There is a pleasant village pub within walking distance, which serves good food and several highly acclaimed restaurants, including the Waterside Inn and The Fat Duck at Bray within several miles. Hurley was first mentioned in Saxon Chronicles as long ago as 895 and an established church was present when the Domesday Survey was carried out in 1086. Today it is a quiet, pretty village where the conservation of the local area is still important. Buildings of interest include the church, the Refectory, the Dove Cotes and the Tithe Barn. For
walkers, the Thames Path is only 2 minutes away. Golf courses are abundant
and the village farm residents include rare breeds such as Pigmy Goats and
even Llamas!
HENLEY ON THAMES Henley
is an historic town which hosts the world famous Henley Royal Regatta which
takes place during July every year. The four night Music Festival that
follows the Royal Regatta is another fantastic occasion. WINDSOR Windsor
is the setting for the Queen’s home and is a must on any tourist’s itinerary.
There is also Windsor Great Park with miles of wonderful scenery. The River
Thames flows through Old Windsor and there are boat trips from Old Windsor
either to Windsor or going the other way to Hampton Court during the Summer
months. The Theatre Royal is also well worth a visit for evening
entertainment. LOCAL EVENTS Mar : Hurley Canoe/Kayak
